My Safe Florida Home Grant
Eligible Florida homeowners may qualify for up to $10,000 in grant assistance for approved hurricane-mitigation improvements through the state-administered My Safe Florida Home Program.
How the program works
Inspection first. Approval before construction.
The program is separate from GreenSky and PACE financing. Homeowners apply directly through the official My Safe Florida Home Program.
Visit the official program ↗- Start with the inspection.Eligible homeowners may apply for a free wind-mitigation inspection. The inspection report identifies recommended improvements and potential grant-eligible work.
- Apply separately for the grant.An inspection does not guarantee a grant. Homeowners must receive written grant approval before construction begins.
- Complete approved improvements.Eligible work may include roof-to-wall attachments, roof-deck reinforcement, secondary water barriers, and opening protection recommended in the inspection report.
Grant assistance may be available up to $10,000, subject to homeowner eligibility, program rules, legislative appropriations, and available funding. Matching grants generally reimburse $2 for every $1 contributed by the homeowner, up to the program maximum; separate low-income grant rules may apply. Only approved work started after grant approval may qualify.
